I was tasked with creating promotional materials for The Block is Hot, an exhibition curated by Alex Browngardt at 1969 Gallery in New York. For this project I created a text based logo, various static and animated assets, and a video announcing the exhibition opening.

Initial Illustration

The animated and static text components for this project began as ink drawings on paper which were then scanned and digitally altered. The main logo was turned into a vector image using adobe illustrator for use in print and online, the various iterations of the drawing were turned into a frame animation using adobe photoshop and later added in to an animated short.

Final Logo

The final iteration of the logo, which was used on the exhibition previews, featured in the video advertisement, and utilized across various instagram posts, was created with the intention of appearing hand drawn while maintaining quality at various scales. Because of this, it was converting to a vector image file using Adobe InDesign.

Final Animated Exhibition Announcement

This animated short which announced the opening of the exhibition was posted on the 1969 Gallery Instagram and Youtube to promote the exhibition. It was created using hand drawn illustrations and the previously mentioned vector files edited together in Final Cut Pro.
